Bio

Lauren’s primary relationship is with Creator, experienced through the Land; she enjoys this relationship through silence and listening, canoeing, snowshoeing, medicine gathering, hiking, and in time will rejoin the earth with peace. She creates with multiple art forms, including poetry, photography, and art. Her experience of PTSD wove together with the terrible forest fires around Fort St. James in 2018, and the colours of that traumatic incident and the fires wove together into one trauma at that time.

Lauren is highly educated, with undergraduate work in Education at Simon Fraser University, a Master of Arts in Public and Pastoral Leadership from the Vancouver School of Theology, an APA-recognized Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy certificate, and she is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry at St. Stephen's College.

Lauren has also used what she learned to work in human service spanning almost 50 years. She teaches Land-Based Healing and Wellness and Art-for Wellness at the continuing education, undergraduate and graduate levels, taught in Vancouver School of Theology’s Indigenous Ministries Summer School, and currently works as a counsellor/instructor at the College of New Caledonia (Nechako) and a worship leader at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Prince George.
